D-Rats 0.3.5 for Ms Windows 7, XP, 10 with maps problem fixed

Features

As D-Rats source code is made available from Dan Smith, in 2014 I did an update of D-Rats for revising the map output and some other minor embellishment. I recently updated D-Rats to 0.3.5 adding:

  • modified preference menu adding a Maps section with options to insert map keys (to avoid overlay "Key required" on the map images)
  • options for the GPS messages export service

Installation and configuration

- if you had used D-Rats 0.3.3, this one will not tweak anything on that.

- if you had used D-Rats 0.3.4 you'll probabily need to cancel (or rename) its config file as this new version use the same config file but needs some additional parameters and it could be better to start from a clean situation. sorry.

- download the RAR version from here:

        https://www.dropbox.com/s/htip0v0rlxntq5q/D-Rats%200.3.5_20191008.rar

- uncompress it wherever you want

- go to the new D-Rats folder and click on d-rats.exe

- configure the D-Rats

           - adding your Callsing, QTH etc

IN CASE YOU DONT GET ACCESS TO THE "BASE" MAPSERVER , FOR THE CORRECT LOADING OF THE MAPS:

           - select a map to use different from base (e.g. outdoors)

           - register on Thunderforest map service and obtain your key to insert in the apikey parameter

            -  if you don't have your apikey, Just remove entirely the parameter (empty string). this will load the maps with the watermark "api key required"

GPS data Export

In the preference there is now a Json client to export  gps positions  towards an external application server., like this one: D-Rats-WebMap-server-master.rar
